Many talented hands (and great minds) work together for a large project to come to completion. Hats off to Christian Wright and Gerald Simpkins of Wright – Simpkins, Inc. and Jorge De Quesada of De Quesada Architects for their efforts in the home they completed on the Kohala coast of the Big Island, Hawaii.
The property consists of three buildings: a main home, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms; a guest house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a separate sleeping pavilion with bath. All buildings have individual outdoor showers. The buildings are situated around an interior garden with pond and foot bridge. The pool and lanai are on the north end of the main house with access from the garden and Main House itself.
The client wanted a home that did not feel like a resort. The project from inception to completion ran approximately four years.
