Grand Pair of Venetian Baroque Style High-back Arm Chairs in the Manner of Andrea Brustolon
circa 1900
designed in the manner of Andrea Brustolon (Italian, 1662-1732) and attributed to the cabinet maker Valentino Besarel; upholstered in russet-colored leather with saddle-stitch detailing; the scrolling open arms supported by well-carved and expressive robed figures all raised on faux carved logs joined by a similar stretcher; Valentino Besarel (1829-1902) was a Venetian furniture maker who was patronized during the second half of the 19th century by the Royal Houses in Europe. Many of his creations were in the style of Andrea Brustolon (1662-1732); excellent condition with ony minor overall wear.
