In the 1930's, Beebe worked as an illustrator for the pulp magazine, All Story Love Tales while contributing to Women's World, Collier's and McCalls.

with everted neck above a compressed body covered overall in an iridescent multi-layered glaze of cobalt blue, greens and yellow; incised signature to underside; The Western version of Raku was developed in the 20th century by studio potters. Simpler in design than their Murano cousins, the simple traditional styles of Empoli glass were quickly adapted to the sparse abstract shapes of mid 20th century modernism. Six Provincetown photographs, each titled and signed in pencil on the matting; "One of Provincetown’s most colorful and creative artists was photographer John W. Gregory. Born in New York City, he grew up as the son of the city editor for the New York Tribune. After studying with John Sloane at the Art Students League in New York, he took up photography during World War II in Provincetown. His photographs were published by Time Magazine, the New York Times and the Associated Press. Seven of his photographs are included in the Smithsonian’s permanent collection.

the two-wheeled drinks trolley with turned handle joining a rectangular top within an openwork gallery all raised on wicker-wrapped supports joining a lower shelf; The Heywood Furniture Co. began in 1826 making wicker and rattan furniture. In 1897, the company merged with a competitor, Wakefield Rattan Co., to form the Heywood-Wakefield Co. Heywood-Wakefield’s iconic Streamline Modern furniture line was introduced at the 1933 Century of Progress International Exposition in Chicago. The soft-curved, light-colored look ushered in an age of furniture called midcentury modern.
