After studying design in New York and Milan, Eggarat Wongcharit returned to his native Thailand and embarked on creating furniture designs of his own.  Taking his inspiration from the fluidity of nature, Wongcharit combines Southeast Asian craftsmanship with modern design and technology, creating uniquely styled pieces for the global market. His designs have been awarded the 2006 TIFF (Thailand International Furniture Fair) and the Silpathorn Award for Design from Thailand's Ministry of Culture.

fine example of a reverse-glass still life painting with lush floral stems over newly-sliced pomegranates, plump grapes, red cherries and pears with two small hidden birds; exposed section on back with script describing the gifting of the painting to William Schroeder from his Aunt Hickson in 1849. The painting was originally owned by Schroeder's grandfather (Hickson's father), German-born Valentine Schwarz and was described as Schwarz' 'favorite picture'; most-likely the painting was brought from Germany by Schwartz in the 18th century settling in Frederick Town, Maryland

He established his own business Alberts Tibro in 1938, and after World War II the small production team began specializing in coffee tables and multifunctional height-adjustable tables. Throughout the following decades the company grew to become one of Sweden's most successful manufacturers.

the 3-sided top above a paneled conforming body centering double-doors fitted with a solid brass latch; John Van Koert was a prominent New York designer who helped promote the fascination with Danish modern furnishings in the 1950's. In 1954, he was exhibition director of ''Design in Scandinavia,'' at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, introducing modern Scandinavian design to Americans. Mr. Van Koert's furniture designs for Drexel, were represented by prominent department stores such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's; good vintage condition with minor wear and patina; patina to brass

the hinged circular top centering a beautifully inlaid checkboard on one side flipping to reveal an inlaid Parcheesi (Ludo) board on the reverse; raised in 4 dramatically incurved supports joined by a lower shelf fitted with a hidden compartment for game pieces; professionally refinished with minor warpage to top; Parcheesi is based on Pachisi, originated in India around the 4th century A.D. Its popularity headed west in the 1860s, first traveling to England, which had taken over rule of India from the British East India Company in 1858, and then further into Europe.
