converted 19th century oil lamps with original fittings; each covered double-handled urn painted with floral and foliate designs; converted brass fixture marked "W. Whiteley Westbourne Grove London"; . knob reads "Hinks's Duplex Patent"; excellent condition with no chips or cracks; rewired; patination to brass; each with underglaze blue crossed swords made after 1825; in 1863 William Whiteley opened his first ‘Fancy Goods’ shop in London developing into Whiteley's Department Store catering to a wealthy clientele
