the youth in contrapposto pose with his right arm raised with a goat-skin slung over his left shoulder, his legs slightly apart and wearing sandals. leaning on one hip and looking downwards at his reflection; the original figure discovered in Pompei and now in the Museo Nazionale, Naples; title on brass plaque 'Musée de Naples'  and 'Narcisee de Pompei';  overall wear and patina to surface
