BIOGRAPHY
Bill Bloomfield engages the intersecting qualities between art and architecture through vibrant, hard-edge paintings inspired by the effect of light. Bill has a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. As part of his thesis he studied color and form through silk screen printing and continues this exploration today through his paintings.

of superb quality with a rich patina, the solid mahogany oval top centering an inlaid shell motif with satinwood perimeter band and stringing; all resting on turned supports ending in pad feet; fitted with swing legs on either side with large knuckle joints constructed within the frame; the half-round leaves raise with wrought-iron hinges allowing the table to function as a breakfast table, serving piece, end table or game table; Dimensions: 29.5" H x 38.75" W x 14.75" D (Closed) 49.5" L (Open) Condition: Good overall antique condition with signs of age and use including some surface abras
a serene impressionistic sunlit scene of a couple in the foreground seated in a gondola facing the viewer with a typically-dressed gondolier standing at the stern; with the towering St. Mark's Campanile and striking Basilica softly lit in the background; signed lower right; site dimensions: 11.5" x 11.5", overall dimensions: 16.5" x 16.5"; Raul Jose Mina Mora (Minamora) was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador in 1915, the son of a wealthy coffee plantation owner. Minamora came to San Francisco in 1924 where he studied at the California School of Fine Arts (San Francisco).

In honor of International Women's Day, epoca highlight's the work of an amazing mid-century female sculptor, Joanna Gichner Kendall. Joanna Gichner Kendall (b. 1899, Baltimore, MD. d. April 20, 1989) A portrait sculptor, she fulfilled numerous commissions for portrait busts of notables, including President John F. Kennedy and Will Rogers .

It’s fun to share my favorites at epoca! New to the gallery is this very cool and shimmering 8-light chandelier by Swedish glass designer Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors Glassworks. This circular chandelier has eight pie-shaped curved and textured crystal segments supported by a brass fixture. Carl Fagerlund was internationally recognized for his unique and cutting edge lighting designs at Orrefors Glassworks during the 1960’s through 70’s and I’m proud that we have a great example to share with you.

April showers brings May, actually, June––flowers; flowers bursting of vibrant beautiful color, just like this large pair of crackle-glaze ceramic lamps in a richly-colored turquoise by Frederick Cooper here at epoca. These lamps are a perfect example of the extraordinary quality associated with the Frederick Cooper Lamp Company established in Chicago in 1923. Frederick was a Chicago artist and was fascinated with the new invention of lamps and tried to incorporate the elements and flavors of American architecture of that time which has been carried on through the generations. View Photos: Change is good but thank goodness the lamb chops remained! This year’s San Francisco Fall Art and Antiques Show was all about change and for the better. The improved floor plan created secret passageways and sneak peaks for the exhibition goer. Attendees meandered through brightly-colored Farrow and Ball painted booths. The well-attended show had a fresh new look with vibrant contemporary art galleries mixed among the traditional and 20th century furniture dealers. Bravo SFFAAS 2016!
