these unique carvings are from a Churulan Vallam, a traditional narrow boat used in the famous snake boat races of Kerala, South India and powered by approximately 45 people; the prow is carved as a "churul" meaning a ring out of local aini wood and adorned with incised carvings and inset metal embellishments; some missing metal elements with overall wear and abrasions

with everted neck above a compressed body covered overall in an iridescent multi-layered glaze of cobalt blue, greens and yellow; incised signature to underside; The Western version of Raku was developed in the 20th century by studio potters. Typically fired at high temperatures, the wares are placed in an open-air container filled with combustible material, unlike the traditional Japanese method. The Western process can give a great variety and depth of colors and surface effects as seen with this pot; good vintage condition with no chips or cracks

the two-wheeled drinks trolley with turned handle joining a rectangular top within an openwork gallery all raised on wicker-wrapped supports joining a lower shelf; The Heywood Furniture Co. began in 1826 making wicker and rattan furniture. In 1897, the company merged with a competitor, Wakefield Rattan Co., to form the Heywood-Wakefield Co. Heywood-Wakefield’s iconic Streamline Modern furniture line was introduced at the 1933 Century of Progress International Exposition in Chicago. The soft-curved, light-colored look ushered in an age of furniture called midcentury modern.

the Calacatta Viola marble top with bowed front and concave sides inset within an ogee molded edge; over a deep apron with rocaille and acanthus carving; raised on cabriole supports with similar rocaille and acanthus decoration with cascading bell flowers all ending in foliate carved feet; joined by an x-form stretcher of alternating C-scrolls culminating in a lively rocaille carved flourish; good antique condition with overall wear and patina with minor chipping; small areas of refreshed gilding; some discoloration to original top with old repair to one corner

His unique aluminum furniture and accessories featured cast antler chandeliers, chairs, tables and bookcases. 
Department stores across the United States brought his aluminum creations to loyal followers and collectors; reupholstered in brown cowhide.

After studying design in New York and Milan, Eggarat Wongcharit returned to his native Thailand and embarked on creating furniture designs of his own.  Taking his inspiration from the fluidity of nature, Wongcharit combines Southeast Asian craftsmanship with modern design and technology, creating uniquely styled pieces for the global market. His designs have been awarded the 2006 TIFF (Thailand International Furniture Fair) and the Silpathorn Award for Design from Thailand's Ministry of Culture.
