from the artist: I've long been inspired by old things. The texture and play of light on a weathered surface are the things that spark my imagination. I seek to capture a building's essence in my paintings, in a time less hurried with a calmness of spirit. Their strong simple shapes inspire me to try to somehow preserve their beauty captured at a moment in time.

each of solid construction with arbalète-form top over a conforming body fitted with 3 drawers with solid brass handles all raised on bracket feet; the top, drawer fronts and side panels all with a banded walnut edge surrounding burl wood reserves; excellent restored condition with minor veneer replacements and refinished surface; beautiful warm patina

of neoclassical style, the oval inset beveled glass top within a nickel-plated frame; all raised on cylindrical supports ending in toupie feet all joined by a shaped stretcher; good vintage condition with some abrasions to glass and metal; minor pitting on feet; small interior chip to glass along edge

the Calacatta Viola marble top with bowed front and concave sides inset within an ogee molded edge; over a deep apron with rocaille and acanthus carving; raised on cabriole supports with similar rocaille and acanthus decoration with cascading bell flowers all ending in foliate carved feet; joined by an x-form stretcher of alternating C-scrolls culminating in a lively rocaille carved flourish; good antique condition with overall wear and patina with minor chipping; small areas of refreshed gilding; some discoloration to original top with old repair to one corner 

a wonderful period English George III hand-carved tilt-top supper/tea table with shell and leaf carved top with circular reserves, over a turned baluster support issuing three downswept legs terminating in ball and claw pad feet; the English supper table became popular during the reign of King George II and continued into the late 18th century; repair to edge of top; refinished surface

each with framed oval back above a tight seat flanked by padded arms all raised on fluted supports; good restored antique condition with new leather upholstery; overall even wear and patina to surface

with arching framed crest rail with double-caned back above an elongated caned seat with bowed end; all raised on 6 fluted turned supports; excellent restored antique condition with new caning; nice overall even patina to paint and gilding

the circular padded back with floral carved crest rail above padded arms over s-scrolled supports; joining a generous bowed seat and apron with foliate carving; raised on turned fluted supports; overall even wear and rubbing to refreshed paint and gilding; with new puddy-colored boar skin upholstery

the square top with inset tiles all above intricate openwork aprons with arabesque spandrels; painted overall with stylized floral and foliate motifs in colors of scarlet, ochre and olive green; overall wear and patina with some chipping to paint 

the rectangular plate within a reverse-painted mirrored frame decorated with graceful floral and foliate vines on a gold gilt ground.
